Biography

Caitlin received her Bachelor and Master degrees from the University of British Columbia in voice performance. While at UBC, she studied voice and conducting with Bruce Pullan, directed the UBC Vocal Jazz Ensemble from 2003-2006, and sang in the University Singers as well as many vocal ensembles.

Prior to attending UBC, Caitlin was a student and performer with the Jennings Institute for Performing Artists. Here, for 11 years, she studied singing, acting, dancing, and piano. She has been performing in a wide variety of genres ever since.

Caitlin sang with the Vancouver Cantata Singers for three seasons as a soloist and section leader, and in the vocal quartet at Holy Rosary Cathedral for two years. She was the music director at the Capilano Suspension Bridge for 5 years, and she has been the music director/conductor for several Gilbert & Sullivan productions. Caitlin has sung with orchestras and many instrumental ensembles, and has performed in musical theatre and operatic roles.

Currently singing her third season with the Vancouver Chamber Choir under the direction of Jon Washburn, Caitlin is also the music director at St. Francis-in-the-Wood Anglican Church in West Vancouver. She is working around town as a teacher, singer and conductor/director. She specializes in multiple genres of music from Baroque, through oratorio and romantic music, to musical theatre, jazz and popular music. She is known for her stage presence, clarity of tone, musicality and ability to evoke the beauty in the text and music.
